Love and the Issue of "Saving" Others

  • Mood:

Often, as human beings, our nature is to feel empowered by the need to "save" others, including lovers.

When you set out to "save" someone, you need to ask yourself two questions:

Q.  Is it your job?

A.  No, never.

Q.  Awe, the trickier question: Does that person want to be "saved"?

Time-and-time again, we get so caught up in our "mission" that we fail to take a look at the individual that we want to "save".  Perhaps that individual is quite happy the way they are, are happy on the path they have chosen and thus, don't really want to be saved.

Moral of the Story?

1.  Before you mount that "White Horse" take a long, hard look at the individual that you have targeted: TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS!  That's why God gave them to us!

2.  Make sure that you are not going to find yourself in an empty field in the aftermath of your failed "mission".

"Belief, is a beautiful honor, but makes for the heaviest  sword." - John Mayer.
